FEDERAL GRAND JURY IN FORT WAYNE RETURNS INDICTMENTS
Fort Wayne, INCThe United States Attorney's Office announced that a Grand Jury sitting in Fort Wayne, Indiana, returned the following Indictments on October 24, 2012:
Nathan Hasty, 34, of Huntington, Indiana, is charged in a three count Indictment with sexual exploitation of children from on or about May 22, 2011 through and including on or about August 24, 2012, receipt of material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on or about December 29, 2011, and possession of one or more matters containing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct from on or about May 22, 2011 through and including on or about August 24, 2012. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the FBI Cyber Squad. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery.
Brandon Peters, 24, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is charged in a two count Indictment with robbery of a controlled substance and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence both occurring on or about September 25, 2012. These charges were filed as the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Fort Wayne Police Department. This case has been assigned to and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony W. Geller.
The United States Attorney's Office emphasized that an Indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
If convicted in court, any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes and the Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
